County Down
Although it is best known for the famous Mourne Mountains, County Down is also the place where St. Patrick founded his first church, in Downpatrick, and this is reflected throughout that area of the county. As well as the outdoor prusuits offered in and round the Mournes, there are many historic buildings and the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum should be on every tourist’s wish list.
